Email/call local libraries or schools in your county to see if you can host an FLL camp at their location.
Having trouble finding their local contacts? (Click Here!)
Offer a time to meet with someone (usually the library/ school will give you the name of someone in charge) in-person to discuss more detailed plans.
Make sure to give a detailed description of your plans, including dates, times, goals
Keep in contact with the library/ school until you have negotiated a time plan that works.
Discuss a strategy for the library/school to advertise the FLL camp. One way is by asking if your camp can be featured on their website and/or social media.
Step #3
Hosting An FLL Camp:
Before your first class…
Inspect the room they offer *Look at sizing, chairs, tables, whiteboard, etc.*
Make sure you have all your materials ready to go before your first class.
Make sure you have all of your computers are charged— bring more than one and bring chargers
Ensure you have the programming app downloaded and ready to go on your computer.
Make sure you have run through all of the programs and checked its effectiveness
Start a FIRST (FLL or FTC) club or team by partnering with the library/school you worked with for your FLL Camp
Make an outline of how you plan to run the team
Contact us for additional resources, more lesson plans, and advice. We will make sure to cross your county off of the map!
Congratulations! You have successfully established a new FIRST team. Creating new teams are at the forefront of increasing accessibility in STEM for all students.
